Happy spring! It’s GFM time!!

It’s that time of year again!

Flowers are blooming, birds are chirping, kids are playing, people are eating…at Greenpoint Food Market!!! Come join in on some Arirang Kimchi treats along with other edible delights on Saturday 4/10/10 at the Church of Messiah (129 RUSSELL ST BROOKLYN, NY 11222) from 12-5pm. A “Spring Awakening” themed day filled with KIMCHI, sandwiches, sweets, teas, nuts, pickles, chocolate and so much more.

To all I had the pleasure of meeting and having great conversations with- Thank you!! The demo was quite a success and I look forward to speaking with you all again some time soon. In the meantime, please continue to support my mom’s great recipe, Arirang Kimchi.

Also, I’ve put up some ideas as to how you can eat your kimchi. Kimchi is a very versatile food and can be eaten with anything from steak to tomato to tofu to seitan.

UPDATE: the KACIA event turned out to be a success. People were lining up with hungry stomachs and satisfied them with either a kimchi/bacon fried rice or japchae (glass noodles). Both came with three banchan (sides): crunchy cabbage and jalapeno, sweet and yummy bean sprouts, and of course some Arirang Kimchi. Pictures to come!

KACIA creates scrumptious Korean dishes once a month and invites the public to share in the goodness for $8. This month, the students are serving kimchi bokeum bap (kimchi fried rice) and the infamous japchae (sauteed glass noodles). If you feel like taking a short road trip Upstate, be sure to stop by CIA in Hyde Park, NY and try some luxurious Korean cuisine.

I hope ya’ll had scrumptious foods fill your stomach this past holiday weekend! I know I sure did.

With that said…it is official, Arirang Kimchi will be participating in the highly anticipated New Amsterdam Market on December 20th. So prepare you stomach and join us on this day filled with amazing treats.

There’s absolutely no need to throw it away. It isn’t old and it definitely hasn’t gone bad. Find out at our booth and get a taste of our yummy kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew).

I just want to thank all who are involved for this great opportunity. Arirang Kimchi’s been around for 30 years, but now I think it’s about time to share it with EVERYONE and not just the Korean community. My parents moved here thirty-something years ago and had the desire to share the unique, fresh taste of Mrs. Oh’s mother’s kimchi with the people of America. After 5 or so years of experimentation and constructive criticism, my parents were able to launch the perfect taste of Arirang Kimchi.

Arirang Kimchi is known for its clean, fresh taste. This is because all of our kimchi is hand-cut, hand-made, hand-jarred and all natural, just as it would be comin’ straight out of mama’s kitchen. 30 years later, their kids are learning the tools of the trade.

We’re slowly entering the Manhattan and Brooklyn markets. As of now, you can find the ‘always fresh, always delicious’ kimchi at:
